After a year in which he carried a 0.82 ERA over 22 innings, David Matoma has been named an FCL all star for the 2024 season.
Though the Pirates' organization decided against promoting Matoma to Single-A for the remainder of this season, he will, in all likelihood, start next year with Bradenton, Pittsburgh's Single-A affiliate. With his all star selection to work off of, we could see Matoma - and his triple digit fastball - on a fast track to the higher levels of minor league ball.
